Merbabu mountain is one of many mountain in Indonesia. Located in Central Java, Indonesia. The name Merbabu could be loosely translated as ‘Mountain of Ash’ from the Javanese combined words; Meru means “mountain” and awu or abu means “ash” (knew it from Wikipedia). One of many great place for hiking and landscape photography. Which is where I took this landscape photography: Merbabu Mount Line. Since it’s a freaking mountain and in nature, of course the obvious choice of photography is landscape.

To tell you the truth, I didn’t prepare anything and I regret it ever since. The plan was just hiking, go up the mountain, reach the peak, yipee, go down, then home. I just happen to have my camera. So what the hell. Basically this just a simply point and shot photo.
But thanks to post-processing I manage to turn it into black and white fine art landscape photography. Adobe Lightroom for the basic adjustment. Adobe Photoshop for deep control of black and white adjustment with Google Nix Silver Efex Pro and Easy Panel by Jimmy McIntyre.
My idea of the composition is a leading line. From the nearest part at the far bottom right leading to the mountain peaks on the left side and end up to the mountain on the far end of the photo. That Mountain actually another mountain called Mount Merapi.
